I recently decided using Evolution Mail. I downloaded all my mail (over 2k messages) from my GMail account and marked then Read. All the messages disappeared immediately. However, a day later when I tried to search for a mail I figured out there is no way to view the Read messages. I can see that the downloaded messages are still there in my Inbox, but I just can't view them. Evolution users, plese help me out with this. Thanks!

Did you make sure your search bar was empty?

Goto View --> Show Hidden Messages. :-)

I used Evolution only once so this is just a guess!! Have you accidently marked them as trash or spam due to quick mouse action? Thats why they could be disabled. Can you re-mark them as unread? What does your trash folder show?

The mail is still in my inbox. I can say that because the inbox folder shows over 2000 of my mails which I had downloaded few days back. I had marked all of them as Read. But, it does show me any new mail that arrives in my inbox. My trash is empty. I tried marking them as Unread but nothing happens. -- Regards, Sanket Medhi.
