Does mutt use localhost:25 or the sendmail binary to send the mail?
I guess mutt cannot talk to SMTP directly. (correct me if I am wrong) If that is the case, how do I send my mail through vsnl's SMTP server? Do I have to change the configuration of localhost sendmail?

It depends on how you want to push mails, directly to each recipients mail server using your connection(which is not a good idea) or through SMTP server like VSNL. I guess you will have to change the configuration of sendmail. If you are using exim, I can tell you what and where to change. ------- Krishna
