Dear all,
Everybody on this list should go through following link.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/facts/default.mspx
It has whitepapers produced by various companies including microsoft on differences between Windows and Linux.
Microsoft is saying Windows is more secure than Linux.
Important for SuSe and Red Hat.

Sometime Today, SC cobbled together some glyphs to say:
Microsoft is saying Windows is more secure than Linux.
That's okay, because I say that linux is more secure than Windows, and I actually have experience with security and insecurity in both. Microsoft doesn't.

Yes philip. No doubt to agree that Linux is most secure than windows.
Microsoft doesn't.
No doubt . Microsoft has published the case studies made by other organizations who already had experience with Linux (as per papers produced by them)
And obviously it has importance because it is appeared on Microsoft web site.
Not only on security, but other issues are also there.
Just go through the link again

again I am saying this is important for SuSe and Red Hat

Most flavours of Linux "can be made" more secure than windows, since Linux is very flexible, by locking it down. But by default, in most distros.. the default install, it can be exploited.

Did you also notice that Microsoft sponsored those case studies?

Friends,
Sharing some of my thoughts, when Sachin said:

M$ is not likely to vanish anytime in the near future. But market-shares must be changing, and that is perhaps cause for concern for M$.
Note that a cash-rich M$ is having to take note of products and solutions possible from the GNU/Linux movement.
Note that this M$ sees a need to publish white papers showing merit in its solutions v/s GNU/Linux based solutions,
This in itself is a victory for the movement !
I suggest each lugger (re)committ himself/herself to create one more comp running GNU/Linux within his/her network of friends and contacts, each month.
Way to go ! Keep at it ! Raise the pressure ! Every bit/user/desktop/server will indeed add-up eventually !
