Thank you, Philip Tellis and S K Rahman. Actually, I took both of your ideas. I booted from the rescue disk, unmounted the home partition, and using the parted program on the HD, shrank that partition. Now I'll be able to load another distro on the comp and resize either whenever I wish to. Just posted this since it might be useful to others too. Again, thanks :)
