We purchased a Sun Solaris Server - Sun Fire V210 from Nortel along with a Nortel product - Media Processing Server 500 We need to install a Sound Card on Sun Fire V210 Server
I checked the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) for Sun Fire V210 Server and found that the following Models of Sound Cards will be suitable for our Server.
1. Sound Blaster MP3+ by Creative Technologies
2. Sound Blaster Live 24 bit External by Creative Technologies
3. Sound Blaster 128 PCI by Creative Technologies
Please let me know if any of the above mentioned Sound Cards are available at any vendor.

any pci sound card will work. A stroll thru the slushy bylanes of Bhadkamkar Marg should throw up sufficient options. U might even pickup a bargain from the junk dealers lining the streets.

depends on the kind of work you want to do. For media processing try creative audigy ZX series. Known to work on linux (please check alsa matrix for exact models). Also, have a look at M-audio series. Some M-audio cards are superior to Creative. M-audio is easily available in Mumbai. (I procured one about a month ago from Mumbai).
