I have tomcat running through apache (mod_jk). No one ever uses it though, so technically, it shouldn't be doing anything. However, I've noticed that after a day or so, there are about 30 java processes running, all attached to tomcat. The logs show that no one tried to access it (in fact, other than me, no one's even used apache on the machine).

These processes take up loads of cpu time and basically slow down the machine.

Any ideas? Anything I should try? Anything else you need to know?
