Forgot to mention one thing. You need to boot with the apic command line option. i.e. boot: linux apic And if you have an SMP machine, the smp kernel is not installed by default. The Adaptec AIC7xxx SCSI bus timeout on 440GX motherboards was a known bug and it has been patched. The boot image of redhat7.1 has been fixed. mouse problems

hi all, i have recently switched to mandrake 8.0 only to face a strange difficulty. during installation process, the kernel correctly detected my mouse (however, did not show me the settings!) but after that it stopped. now i have confirmed that the mouse (logitech firstmouse+) and serial port are okay. could someone pls. guide me as to how to configure it. it is mounted on ttyS1 and i have tried "mouse" only to remain in the same state. thanx ulhas
