Hello linuxers, BeOS 5 PE Max Edition is a distribution made using the free version of BeOS 5 (called Personal Edition) with a number of drivers, add-ons, and software. It includes the new development tools from the OpenBeOS team Web site, but you will also be able to select the old tools. It only contains freeware and shareware demos. All the code it contains is legal under the MIT, GPL, or LGPL licenses. And yes its Athlon XP patched. After that, the installation will unpack them. This change will speed up the setup. (This has allready been done.Installation improved from 35 minutes to 12 minutes!!! With unpacking). 2) There will be alternative programs for bone setup, but not bone itself. Also it will include instructions on how to use Max with bone. 3) There will be a Pentium 4 boot disk included. 4) Also while booting Max u can select from 2 kernels, the Athlon Xp or the Pentium 4 kernel by pressing spacebar. hi, check out the linux-clustering howto @ www.tldp.org. get the oscar toolkit from sourceforge.net. Oscar is a really good tool for clustering. Oscar works with diskless nodes and can work with the lowest of configurations.Also it uses the master-slave configuration as compared to the p2p models some other clustering tools use. Also you can work with pvm/lam if you want to really do some hardcore clustering. Try using the MPI from notredame univ. It seems to be good. Qmail Installation error

Hi, While installing qmail (qmailv1.03) I encountered the following error. the qmail-send daemon was having problems with the /proc/profile file infact when using the readprofile command, I found that there was no file called profile on the /proc file system. can somebody enlighten me why "/proc/profile" is needed and what does it contain? Also why does qmail need it? can this error be circumvented by some means? Also trevor's site www.qmailtheeasyway.com is not accessible.

Courts in Maharashtra to use Linux.

Dear luggers !!! This is to inform you all that the Bombay High Court hasvse decided to have the computerisation of the activities of the Judiciary in Maharashtra on a Linux platform. As part of a recently initiated computerisation programme of all the subordinate courts of the Metropolitan area of Mumbai we are going to use Red Hat 7.3. For the last 3 years we are using a Red hat E-Mail server in the High Court. Also all District Courts in the State use a Slackware version of Linux on their systems. We have specific interest in issues relating to the following under Linux : a) Support for old binaries ( SCO Unix Sys V/ Xenix ). We have used old ibcs as well as present linux-abi modules to get some of our application running with a big load of users accessing the same. b) Still looking for a non-GUI word processor which is simple to use, implements curses/ncurses efficiently for screen handling, uses simple fonts ( or no font at all !!) to give speedy outputs of big documents speedily on DMPs. We have not yet found anything remotely similar to the good old SCO Lyrix OR Uniplex wordprocessors. If someone has any suggestion on this it is welcome. c) Method of printing simple text under Star office OR Open Office. This is linked to previous section subject. d) Bilingual support. We are trying out Indix. Lastly we would like some suggestions regarding a workshop we plan to hold for Judges ficers of the Courts sometime around Nov. 17-19. One session is planned on Linux and as the audience would be general users the presentations are proposed to be a of a general nature. I am contemplating getting either to get Red Hat technical persons to handle this OR may be any of you Luggers having the time !! Kindly feel free to mail me. Printing & Diskusage.

Hi, How will I generate userwise priting usage( No of pages printed) in linux & the disk space usage. Is any one does this, please help me. thanks, Rajesh.
