Hi,
I just realized that uu.net (appear so me to be an ISP) has many spamers are their clients.
I am wondering what is the solution to this. If a spammer will signup for a account from uu.net then he can authenticate himself and send spams to many people. How can uu.net stop this?
It appears to me that uu.net is listed as a spaming domain (sorry for this slang language but I do not have the proper term for this) and mails from this domain are not accepted if we disable the mail delivery …
[View More]from blacklisted domains.
How can I as a sysadmin make sure that uu.net spams are not welcomed but genuine users from uu.net are no problems.
Thanks in advance.
Bye.

Yes yes nothing new.....nice to know that luggers are more interested in
showing off their intelligence (egos actually) …
[View More]on the way msgs are posted
rather than on the msg. Which gets me to ask myself a question....do these
great intelligent people really care about GNU/Linux and this mailing list
or do they care more about showing off their egos here. Yes i could've
posted a link to the article instead of cutting and pasting the whole
thing. BUT i pasted it because last time i had posted some link i had got a
reply that the site required a passwd etc. So just to make sure no one faces
any problems i pasted the WHOLE article.
This takes me to another topic, Major problems in the world exist because
people don't percieve things in the same way. Everyone has their own point
of view about things. Even i have one but most of the times i don't let my
EGO blurr the actual view. So yes i agree that i have posted mails with an
unacceptable "signal to noise ratio" and i have changed that. But sometimes
rather than following the HERD and coming up with such comments on someone
you should try and think about all the possible reasons for a person to do
something. And in this case i don't think i have done anything wrong . But
as they say advice is something the wise don't give and the fools don't take
( i know people will reply to this specific statement of mine (thats my
perception :) ) Yes i have realized that my mail signatures were
unncessarily HUGE and have reduced it. But if someone still wants me to
teach netiqutte this is what i would have to say to that person. @#!@#!#!

Yes my dear friend i could've been better off..but i did this with a reason.
and i really don't care what you have to say.

<NOTHING NEW>
I have already mentioned about this one my dear friend. If you don't want me
on the list u can unsubscribe me anytime ......I am using my corp id because
its convinient AND AGAIN FOR YOUR CONVINIENCE....THE GUIDELINES OF THIS LIST
DON'T TALK ANYTHING ABOUT DISCLAIMERS. SO either make sure the guidelines
are changed or just stop displaying your intelligence on this topic.

so whas u gonna try next my dear friend ???
I have a suggestion for LUG.
The homepage should say.
Welcome to GNU/LUG EGOISTS Users Group of Mumbai!
because thats what is going on in this list most of the times....everyone
has such a big EGO...cant u ppl for once let things be and just FOCUS on the
message rather than the sender of the message. There are a lot of
constructive stuff to be done rather than this EGO trips that keep
happening. What are you guys trying to prove to each other. This mailing
list is like the GOVERNMENT OF INDIA....most of the times rather than
FOCUSSING on the issue...the FOCUS is on who created the issue...how dare he
create the issue...why didnt he do it this way..this is how its to be
done.....O CMONN...gimme a break....come out of this if u really want to do
something for GNU/LINUX....don't worry so much about showing off ur
intelligence through comments on how ppl are doing things......i believe all
u ppl must be great techies..and thats what u shud be doing....focussing on
what u r supposed to do....
and if anyone else has any problems with me cut pasting stuff or my
mails...i'd want to be unsubsribed from this list. Thanks for teaching me a
few things on netiqutte...but i guess a lot of people here have a lot to
learn....
What they need to learn is understood i hope....
> what kinda ppl are MBT hiring nowadays?
-----8<---
Atleast not the stupid kind like you. And listen kishor...u better not get
personal on this one.....Is this what the entire LUG is all about... MUD
slinging matches.....welll .....i hope u never have a Linux-Bombay...with
such people....because it'll be more of an EGO Flashing trip than anything
else.....I thought the lug had people who were above average in
intelligence..but what i see is bunch of kiddos..fighting with each other. I
hope this changes someday....And as for u kishor....u sound like u r
constipated with that id of urs.....why dont u try some Isabgol... :)

Hi all,
We can have a LUG meet at KReSIT, IIT Bombay on the 8th of Dec if all
are interested. We have a choice between a classroom that can seat 50
people and the audi that can seat 200. I have temporarily booked both.
Gods of the list, please confirm the meet, so that I can also announce
on the IITB newsgroups. Is Sunday 4pm fine? Can't expect too many
people from IIT, since most have left for home for the winter
vacation.
Jaju and Chetan please note, I won't be present on 8th. We need to
…
[View More]ensure ITA takes care of the tea arrangements.
I'll also try to see if I can get more details about the new
"Affordable Computing Lab" that Prof. Phatak is planning in the dept.
Agenda for the meet?
Sameer.

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, i was not available to read my mails and
answer them over the week.
Well, I think I sparked off an unnecessary argument over
"Commercialisation". Am with Trover. Generally LUGs are supposed
be there, so that we can SHARE knowldge.
What I meant by Commercial interests in some LUGs is that, some of
them are promoted and funded/aided by commercial organizations,
with an optional internal MOTO. This is what I meant by
"commercial LUG", and not charging for …
[View More]help mails.. Hey come on...
even M$ gives FREE help over newsgroups...!!!!! (surprising, but
it does give, SOMETIMES). Of course, if any one wants to go in
person and help them, or have their own interests, in answering a
question, they can do it in a commercial way.....
Cheers
Natarajan
