In Pune, there is one cable ISP http:\\www.smjet.com, www.siliconmountains.co.in (Silicon Mountains) using cable internet. In Pune a company Divinet (http://www.cdacindia.com/html/press/archives/otdn02/spot260.asp) (www.divinetaccess.com) is in the field of Cable network distribution devices. Cable Internet is a huge business / Tech area. There are various kinds of details you might want - e.g. Network itself (Back End, Distribution, Client-end), security, performance - especially in Metro environment, effect of metro envioronment on the distribution networks, Network applications e.g. browsing, multimedia, VoD, video streaming etc. If you just take the network itself then these are some of the thins that would come in - MAN, RF-Cable based networks, Fiber to the Kerb or Hibrid Networks), Network Management and User Life Cycle management are some of the other areas. [ANNC]Minutes of Sept Meet and Annc- Octorber Meet

Hi everyone, The main reason for low turnout for Sept 14th meet was the fact that the announcement was made at the last minute and no agenda was set in advance. The minutes of the meeting : Meeting starrted at usual time, and as usual i bumped in late. Dr Nagarjun had got along is beautiful Apple Book. Those who werenot there seriously missed something. The other issue over the meeting revolved around localization efforts of Prof J Shah and how low cost computing can be clubbed with localization project to make affordable computing solutions. Also the venue and agenda for next meet are also in place. October Meet : Date : 11th October 2003 - Venue : VJTI - Mechnical Dept 1st Floor - Computer Lab / Classroom. Agenda : 1) Progress made by Localization teams. - This will be default component of every glug meet 2) GIS - GRAS ----> by Swapnil 3) Low cost computing hardware ---> Terrence D'Souza.(sorry if i messed your spelling ) 4) Blender --> Dr Nagarjun will speak about Blender which out there to give Flash a run for its space. So folks we are all waiting for an all action packed October Meet. Admins please add the meet details in the header. Looking forward for heavy attendance. Regards Harsh

Once you get used to programming with it, it feels a little arcane doing your own memory management. Good news is that there are GC libraries available for C++ also. Help for setting up mail server & proxy

Please help me with setting up a mail server for my college I want to know what software should I use and what distro is better for this work I have PCQlinux 7.3 PCQlinux 8.0 and redhat 9.0 The requirement s is as given below WE need to schedule the email downloads from our main webserver through a ISDN line. We need web based interface for the staff to be able to check their mail All mails sent to the domain endup in a single IMAP /Pop3 acc come to xyz(a)some.com that email needs to be sorted according to the TO address into different mailboxes It even needs to act as an outgoing email server too. Now coming to proxy I want to knwow if squid is the one I should use. Also where can I find a step by step tutorial since I have hardly any command line experience as well I don't have much time to do it.
