[ILUG-BOM] How to unistall packages in debian along configuration files.

Hi, This is santosh K. It would be thankfull If any one tell me how to uninstall packages in debian along with configuration files of the package. I have tried apt-get --purge remove exim4. But this does not delete the conf. files. and more on I would like to know how to see the installed packages in debian. Any help in this regards will be thankfull. Regards, Santosh K.

How to : convinience package (or virtual package)

We need to know the following. How to create a virtual or convinience package for debian web site listing. For example a package called 'kdeedu' contains all the educational packages like khangman,kalzium etc. What they have done is kdeedu has dependencies on all the packages that constitute kdeedu itself. Is that how u create a virtual package?? --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - Helps protect you from nasty viruses.

Hi All, I have been trying from the last 2 days to configure my Dell 720 (Lexmark 615) printer to work with Linux + Windows (SMB) I am using SuSE 9.2, with CUPS. I have finally managed to get it to work perfectly on Linux, and on Windows using the Adobe Generic Postscript Printer. On Linux, I have it setup the printer through CUPS, with the appropriate Lexmark driver. (Color works fine) On Windows, I could only set it up, with the Adobe driver. Dear Friends, Has anyone from the group actually used the Epson LX-300 dot matrix printer on Linux, with good print quality in Open Office, Evoluion and other software? If so which is that Linux version? After finally managing to get a printout in Open Office, I am again stuck in Evolution. It does not print. It not only throws out the paper but the empty roller keeps rolling for some time and I am scared it may cause overload to the motors or control circuit.
