The crimping order for regular (straight) LAN cables is as follows :-
1.White of Orange
2.Orange
3.White Of Green
4.Blue
5.White Of Blue
6.Green
7.White Of Brown
8.Brown
Both ends are crimped in the above format.
In cross cables, 1&3 and 2&6 switch places in one end of the cable. So one
end of the cross cable would be as above and the other end would be as
folllows :-
1.White of Green (previously in 3rd pos)
2.Green (previously in 6th pos)
3.White Of Orange (previously in 1st pos)
4.Blue
5.White Of Blue
6.Orange (previously in 2nd pos)
7.White Of Brown
8.Brown

Sometime on Feb 23, Aditya Laghate assembled some asciibets to say:

sorry for the confusion, there was nothing wrong with your quote. I was
just saying that it was a very appropriate quote for the period that
this list is going through.
