Request to conduct seminar in Somaiya college

Dear Mumbai Luggers, Ive been a = member of this GLUG for the past four years. And in these 4 years Ive se= en that this user group has actively expanded and scaled in all the zones o= f this city. Ive just passed out from K.J. Somaiya college of Engineerin= g (BE in ComSci Engg). Now, Id like the juniors of my colle= ge to receive the same experience-guidance from this user group as myself (= Ive been fortunate to join this group in my 1st year itself). Hence I= d like to request the group moderators and active members to conduct a FLOS= S seminar for student enlightment at K.J. Somaiya College of IT at Sion. I= d like to request Prof. Nagarjuna, Mr. Trevor Warren, Mr. Devdas Bhagat,= Mr. Venkatesh Hariharan and others to grace the occasion by their presence= and deliver motivating talks on FLOSS on the same lines as we have in the = monthly meets. Ive discussed this matter with the college = principal Prof. Kumthekar and she is ready to co-operate and help in all po= ssible ways. Hello , I would like to have suggestions on this question. A application is written in C. We are required to create a GUI for this application on linux. We can use gtk+ (the c interface for gui development) or gtkmm (the c++ interface for gui development). [ILUG-BOM] Postfix Mail Forwarding (similar to yahoo's mail forwarding)

I am using Postfix 2.0.16 on a redhat 9.0 system. Its a virtual mail server (20 domains). Would like to know how I can enable mail forwarding on it? help: resizing root partition

My partition table is as follows: Disk /dev/hda: 40.0 GB, 40020664320 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 4865 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hda1 * 1 382 3068383+ b W95 FAT32 /dev/hda2 383 896 4128705 83 Linux /dev/hda3 897 4757 31013482+ f W95 Ext'd (LBA) /dev/hda4 4758 4823 530145 82 Linux swap /dev/hda5 897 2750 14892223+ b W95 FAT32 /dev/hda6 2751 3770 8193118+ b W95 FAT32 /dev/hda7 3771 4280 4096543+ 83 Linux hda7 is my root partition. As it is clear from the partiton table there is a free space of 4281 to 4757. (It actually was a partition that i deleted) My problem is that i want to merge this free space into hda7 i.e. my root partition. I tried parted but it gives me following error: Error: Filesystem has incompatible feature enabled After that I tried fdisk and simply increased the cylinders of hda7 from 4280 to 4757. As expected the partition size(cylinders) was increased but not usable space. my question is that how can I format this partition without losing the data on it as well as able to use it completely. Anybody succeeded in configuring X on woody? i am using intel 845 graphic card on Pentium IV. it gives me error that no devices detected and no screen found. I have tried using dexconf and xf86config. please help. thank you.

Actually Arjun, the problem is that Karim's book doesn'= t not explicitly teach the building of the root filesystem. He also uses th ird party packages like like Busybox, TinyLogin, etc. which I am specifical= ly prohibited from using. What I need is how do I manually seg= regate all the files built in the toolchain into the appropriate /bin /sbin= /usr/bin /usr/sbin /usr/lib et al. directories of my created root filesyst= em. ucspi(tcpclient) and serialmail usage

Hello Everybody, I have to use the ucspi tools (tcpclient,tcpserver) with serialmail. Consider the following case. I run the command on Linux. tcpserver 90.0.0.24 5000 pwd (any program) so that a tcpserver is created and waits for connections and executes the pwd command. now using the tcpclient tool a client can be started to connect to the tcpserver . tcpclient 90.0.0.24 5000 serialsmtp prefix garfield Here garfield is the host name for tcpserver. I have to use serialmail with tcpclient. The following error is given. serialsmtp: fatal: protocol violation What is the cause of this error ? how can it be rectified. Building a root filesystem

Hey luggers, I have successfully compiled a GNU toolcha= in from scratch. My host platform is an i686 and the target I'm developing = for is an i386. Thanks to Chetan S for actually repyling to my= persistent and annoying mails. There is one more thing. All t= he tutorials , softwatres and web-sites available for building an Embedded = Linux system from scratch actually use third party packages such as a Busy-= Box, TinyLogin, etc to build the system. I;'m trying to do it = without their help.
