hello, well this is confusing situation but let me tell u the fact. [OT] Tata Indicom Latest Offer: Is today April 1st?

Got a call from Tata Indicom AGAIN today for broadband internet at 512 kbps. I asked 10 times categorically, Does it have any other limits of any kind? time restrictions, data transfer restrictions, in 2 languages that i happen to know. He replied NO, no restrictions. which was good since i want something without restrictions. Is it a shared lines or a dedicated one? Dedicated he said. Will I have to provide modem? No, they will provide. So how much was the damage I ask. Rs. 800/month and 1300 for installation. Can anyone confirm if that rate of Rs. 800/month for 512 Kbps unlimited time, unlimted download is for real or was it part of the MTV bakra show? am i already on TV or radio? -thanks abhishek __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I have written menu.1st to /grub and ^^^^^^^^^^^ that should be menu. l as in list not 1 as in one. u can also use ubuntu as a rescue disc. when you get the boot screen type /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.8.1-3-386 intitrd=/initrd/initrd.img root=/dev/hda6 that should take you to the rh root partition. And if all this is too confusing just use debian sarge. rgds jtd

Window less Office

Hi Everyone, In our endeavour to implement a Windoze less office, I would like to add something. I am planning to implement FLOSS in my office network of 7 computers. No accounting packages, no frills network. Just Peer-to-Peer and connected to the Net thru one of the PCs' using the ICS in Win XP. Predominantly use Word, Excel and Mailing. I just want to shift to FLOSS and know that all the above are possible using LINUX. I want to, in addition to the above, implement a messaging server thru which we can chat within our office. Is there any such application thru which we can chat, using "gaim" or something. Provided we are not connected to the Net always. I want to be able to chat with one-other. I know it is possible in M$ world using I believe Exchange Server or something like that and Netmeeting on the client side. Is this possible in our TUX world and if yes are there any free software available. rgds, rc

" In u-boot, I entered commands to display memory: u-boot=> md 0xff000000 The magic number 0x1985 IS here!No 0x0020 exists at all!! It's quite strange!! Why Linux detects 0x0020 instead? Why U-boot can read the data on flash correctly while linux can't? Why linux always read all data as 0x0020? When I simply replace ST M29W640DB with AMD AM29DL640D (the two chips are pin-to-pin compatible,) JFFS2 works very fine! What's the problem? Hi I configured primary DNS on my server with A record and MX record pointing to same machine ( IP ). Now I want only www.mydomain.com to point to another IP. Will changing A record will do ??? I am using FC3 with default Bind package. Regards Mangesh
