telnet issue port 25

I have set up a ( postfix) mail server and i am try to telnet post 25 but not abel to do so but if stop the iptables iam able to telnet thne same . Dear ILUG-BOM, I am having very critical probkem regarding Nagios Network Monitoring Tool.
