Hi,
I have tries strings also, but it just exited with a warning saying that /dev/hde3(which is my home partition) is not an ordinary file.
What can I do now?
Have you tried googling around?
If the deleted file is a text file may be the below mentioned link may help IIRC same trick is also mentioned in one of text of LDP
