128 mb is good enough with no X. The bios must allow the graphics mem (which is shared0 to be reduced to 4 mb. Some mobos particularly low cost ones do not permit this, instead reserving half the mem for graphics. Also u need to know the details of the chipset and ensure that all drivers are gpld.

and yes I have ubuntu installed on my system, so any idea how can I make use of the same? I don't want to install knopix on my system now that ubuntu is working fine. I am as it is comfortable with debian and its new desktop flavour. Krishnakant.
