This may seem lame question but heck I don't seem to be able to connect to net using wvdial It gives the message :
PPP negotiation detected. --> Starting pppd at Fri Mar 8 18:44:47 2002
But I can't view webpages,send/receive mail ..... I have no other option but to use rp3 (which I guess is frontend to wvdial)
plz help I don't want to use X server just for connecting to net

What response do you get when you try to view webpages, send/receive mail ..... ?
Most likely you need to set your DNS servers and gateway. Set DNS in /etc/resolve.conf and gateway in /etc/sysconfig/network file.
#/etc/resolve.conf nameserver 202.54.4.1
#/etc/sysconfig/network ... GATEWAY=202.54.4.1 ...

Here is the output of fetchmail after I get "connected" using wvdial fetchmail: couldn't find canonical DNS name of pop.mail.yahoo.com
#/etc/resolve.conf nameserver 202.54.4.1
But I use dialup to connect to net. So won't these values be dynamic? BTW are these some standard values you have to give in case of dialup?
