[OT] Com Port Issue

Hello All, I am having a dispute with my mobo repairer. I gave him a board that had serial mouse problems. He is supposed to have exchanged it with a working one as the one I gave him had a defective com port that could not be repaired. I did not mark my board so I cannot verify if an actual exchange has taken place. The 'replaced' system worked for 4 days at the client's place and the com port got knocked out again. The repairer claims that it is the problem of the mouse thats knocking off the com port. Is he bluffing. Has anyone come across a mouse that damages a com port, works on a replacement board and damages that too in a few days? forwarders in named.conf

Is there anyway I can associate the DNS IPs alongside :FORWARDERS" in named.conf, with /etc/resolv.conf || /var/run/ppp/resolv.conf as the case might be ? Thank you in advance. Vai

Cyberoam trouble...

Hi guys, My ISP, 7star, uses cyberoam client to authenticate its users. I was happily using linc-daemon to authenticate to my ISP's server. As fate would have it he upgraded it. Now it uses Cyberoam version 6.5.0.5. linc-daemon is unable to login :(. It does say "login sucessfull" but I am unable to connect to any websites. The same configuration was working fine before he upgraded. He wasn't very co-operative the last time I had enquired about getting his connection working on Linux. Plus he has this weird idea that Linux is a "hacker" (or cracker) OS. I am 100% sure that the configuration is correct. Nevertheless I tried I tried the client which is distributed by cyberoam. It doesn't work either. It says "You have successfully logged into xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" yet I can't connect to websites. It just get stuck after name resolution. As I said earlier I am 100% sure that there is no configuration problem. It is definitely due to some misconfiguration on the ISP's side or the protocol isn't supported by linc-daemon. Any help, suggestions are HIGHLY appreciated. I can't live without internet on Linux :( Regards Dinesh Joshi P.S.: Apologies if the formatting isn't ok on the email. But how will the desktops get this entry. I have the problem on the desktop side.... I am sure of one thing, the DNS Server IP on the desktop has to be the one of my Proxy Server. So the next question is, which / how to run a small DNS server / DNS proxy Server, which will fwd all DNS request recd from desktops to the ISP's DNS server, and feed the reply back to the desktops.... Dual Head not working..

Hello everyone, I have a Dell Inspiron 5150 with 1 gig ram, and nvdia graphics card(details in the end). I am trying to configure a dual head single graphics card. The other monitor is a dell 1024x768 lcd display. The problem I am facing is that when i click on configure display and try to configure a dual head, the ok button does not respond. And, finally i need to click on cancel.. Any help will be appreciated. Hi, Does anyone know how much the "ACER 4152LMi" laptop or a similar HP/Dell/IBM model would cost? The configuration is as under: INTEL PENTIUM M PROCESSOR 740 (2MB L2 CACHE, 1.73 GHZ, 533MHZ FSB) MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP (eek) 60GB, 512MB DDR II, DVD DUAL DOUBLE LAYER, 15.0" XGA GRAPHICS MEDIA ACCELERATOR 900 UPTO 128MB, MODEM 10/100 LAN, 802.11 B/G WLAN BLUETOOTH, 6IN1 CARDREADER, DVI.
