Hi,
My email id is: kartik.mistry(a)gmail.com Now, Spam me ;)
If you are FOSS contributor, your email id will float around the
universe. Debian BTS is actually based on emails. Like you will have
QA page like:
http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=youremail@foo.com
Also mentioning straight at all PTS pages for package.
So, it is your responsibility to use filters and may be different
email id for mailing lists etc.

Are you trying to trying to reduce the amount of spam you get? What if
I create a score of webpages each …
[View More]mentioning your email address a
multiple number of times, with the proper mailto: tag, etc.. What will
you do then? Would it not lead to spam too?

Dear All
I'm a free-lance web developer based in the UK - I hope it's OK to post here. I've got more work than I can cope with at the moment and am looking to outsource some of it. Specifically 'm looking for help with integrating moodle (www.moodle.org) with SIMS, a proprietary data management system widely used by schools in the UK. I'm also looking for help with maintaining nd developing a bespoke website and content management system for a school in the UK.>
The essential skills needed …
[View More]are php / mysql / html / css> Desirable skills are perl, wml, javascript, linux system administration and knowledge of moodle
Any work done would be open source. I've not delved into the finer points of the different open source licenses but I should imagine it'd be GPL
If you know of anyone who could help, I'd be delighted to hear from you
Thanks
David Willington
Sheffield, UK

My brother and I have separate accounts. To access files in my home dir, he
made my user and his user member of all groups.(dunno how that helped him!!
but i dont blame him , he is a kid in 10th std). Then later on , when I
removed some softwares, may be a group …
[View More]associated with it was deleted but
both users were its members or so . So I just made the group memberships to
minimum needed ie. own group and wheel group , and KDM login happened . I
may be wrong in assesing the problem as I dont know which group's membership
exactly caused the problem.
I am wondering why was GDM working then if KDM had problem !!
Is it a bug in KDM that its checking for harmless and inconsequential
errors and giving up on it , coz if GDM can start my KDE why not KDM !!

Because its GPL. Please ask FSF for more details. I know you hate GPL
for some unknown reason(s).

Huh? I follow DFSG (Debian Free Software Guideline). I think you need
to learn more about what is Freedom before jumping into this
quicksand.
Novell is Evil in different case.

Trolls and Flames are required.

Please report a bug in Debian BTS with proper examples. You can even
report a bug against Debian Website!
I am sure that it will be done.

Do you know only distribution called itself GNU/Linux is: Debian? You
should use it now no matter how hard, damn, user-unfriendly, useless
it is.

List,
I tried Ubuntu 6.06 on one of my friend's computer.
His comptuer's specs are
Intel Pentium III 866 MHz
Intel 810 - Motherboard
256 MB of RAM
120 GB Hdd (80 + 20)
HP monitor
Peripherals (essentail kbd, mouse, samsung CD-RW
drive)
Though the Live CD worked well without problems, I
actually couldn't connect to internet. This is
because, his ISP is Exatt Net and the provider uses
raspppoe (for authentication, I guess. I don't know
what sort of internet connection this is).
Assuming …
[View More]that this connection was pppoe, I tried
running pppoe on the Live CD, and found that it isn't
available in the Live CD. (Is this what I was supposed
to do? )
Tried Knoppix for the same, but Knoppix couldn't
figure out the monitor and the screen was showing a
series of varied color horizontal lines, after bootup.
Is there any other Live CD, that would have pppoe on
its Live CD to try and connect to his internet.
Perhaps, if someone could post a how-to on the wiki
with details about the "cablewala ka internet" or an
ISP such as one mentioned above, it would be helpful
for many.
