Linux + LDAP + Terminal Server

Hi Guys, i want create multiple profile on a single linux machine(server class) so that multiple users can access the it (GUI ) from their client machines. Server OS is CentOS 5.3 For centralize authentication i am using Fedora directory Services I also have FreeNX server installed on the Linux Server and FreeNX client on the windows machines. Last year, 2008, the fyjc admission was made online using FOSS. The software is available for any one for asking. I was the architect on behalf of the government. I was instrumental in turning the decision of autorites from not going in for online to going in for online this year. That is when my contribution ended. Multipurpose identity card: will the platform be open source?

Hi all, Nandan Nilekani is to start the process of issuing every Indian citizen an identity card. But are the platform/readers and so on based on open source standards, such that you or I can verify that it doesn't have flaws or hidden backdoors which can be misused? I couldn't find anything on Google. Anyone has any ideas? Thanks, Nikhil

how to play vcds or svcd in ubuntu?

Am going around in circles trying to get to play vcds in ubuntu 9.04. Have installed vlc , mplayer medibuntu etc but they don't seem to help. Also have installed the w32codecs, mjpegtools, etc but the story is the same. Don't remember how this was done earlier for earlier versions. Can anybody help please? Kussh

Look at this real situation. What should we do with such terrorists sitting in the educational sector. On one hand we are facing terrorism from companies like Microsoft which will play all these dirty games and to help them the other side is our government where such currupted pimps are sitting to spoil all the educational system by denying even the basic freedom of choosing a software as small as a web browser. happy hacking.
