The first flaming that the OP got was a personal attack, an attempt to humiliate him, not a technical flaming.
Exactly. I mean his post wasn't all that bad.
Right. M'be am missing the point here however, other than discussing mail ettiquetes, flames and nitpicking, has anyone really gone around throwing in few good ideas at all ? Whether the OP deserves it is another point. However won't it be a good idea to just pitch in and have a free flowing discussion on technical stuff ?
Agreed that there's tons of material out there. However if you have experience in anyone of them could anyone give the student a good sizing/estimate ? I don't say give him a project ready, however give him pointers and a rough estimate on how much time it would take.
What beats me is the fact why this list has to be pendantic all the time and help minimally in terms of technical ideas. Heck I guess most people don't want to hack stuff anymore :)
