Processing OutGoing Emails

Hi All, I need to manipulate (modify headers, check body for certain strings etc, append footer texts etc..) every outgoing email. How can this be done. I have been googling for a long time but no good clue... I am considering the following options... (1) I can pipe every outging email to a PHP script which will do the necessary manipulation and then forward the email to SMTP. I wonder if this is possible (2) I can pipe every outgoing mail to MySQL. I can then use PHP scripts to manipulate the email and fwd it to the SMTP. (3) I will have to write a PHP script (whch will behave like an SMTP server) and bind it to port XX. The Email clients can be configured to deliver the email to Port XX instead of port 25. I don't really know how complicated this PHP script will be !! Any inputs, pointers are deeply thanked. IP Tables Query

Hi I am having a problem with IPTABLES. I have firewall script as follows : iptables -A INPUT -t filter -i eth1 -j DROP iptables -A INPUT -t filter -i eth1 -p tcp --destination-port 22 -j ACCEPT iptables -A INPUT -t filter -i eth1 -p tcp --destination-port 80 -j ACCEPT We are connected to internet using eth1 and Line no 2 & 3 allows should access to SSH and HTTP server from Internet. But I am uable to do so. Next GLUG meeting - Smarty / Jabber?

Hi, Came back from Bangalore Linux yesterday and it's been a great event. I had taken two sessions there - one on Smarty PHP Template Engine and one on Jabber. Was wondering when do we have the next GLUG meet. Is it 14th? If we have enough people interested, I could give a talk on either of the above topics (if not this month, may be next). Xwindos & sound for i865GV in RH7.2

Hi ppl, I've a PIV system with 865gv motherboard chipset with inbuild display & sound. I've installed RH7.2 on it & the problem is with display & sound as I'm not able to get Xwindows & sound out of the system (which I was knowing is difficult to get). Any get thrugh this. How can I configure X & sound ? Only a _few_ students learning computer science know about it. How many of them actually use it I dont know. So there is a majority who dont know about Linux. These people are using pirated softwares primarily. As RMS says towards building a better society, we need to spread Linux awareness. 2) There are companies which use Properietery software for their needs which can easily be fulfilled by FLOSS software. This will help these companies reduce their operational costs and increase profits or reduce price for their product. In any way economy is benifitted. I dont want to start a flame war here over TCO. I belive that Linux has lower TCO than properitery softwares. 3) FLOSS offers a lot of learning opportunities in the technology. a generation strong in the technical field will fetch more work to India than just BPO work. And when I say technology, that includes Microsoft technologies like .NET for which one can start developing applications on Linux platform using MONO or DotGNU. (I just came from Bangalore Linux 2003 where I saw a few demonstrations of how Mono can be used to code in C#) In my opinion the agenda should be to make more and more people aware about the viable alternative out there. Let this event get good media coverage, let it be known in all the colleges in Mumbai. And not just Engineering one, but all the Arts/Commerce/Science colleges. In my opinion such events should be arranged in all major cities. Since we stay in Mumbai, we should take responsibility to conduct such an event. The problem I see is how many volenteers we have? how many of us has time to devote? Can we handle an event at such a volume? Regards Aseem
