(OT)Linux Bazar shuts down

Hi I thought I had found a wonderful site in *www.linuxbazar.com<http://www.linuxbazar.com> * based in Banaglore from where I could order Linux Cd's of the latest distros and that too within week. *Today i was shocked when I visited there site to find that it has been shut down.* Infact I ordered Debian Sarge and Slack 10.1 and many more Cd's from them in the 1st week of May 05 and I got them real fast. I dont know when they started there site but got the url from this mailing list. They site the shutting down is due to lack of time on there side and also that due to the advent of broadband downloading is fast and so distro downloads will be fast. Is it really the truth in India thru a broadband connection?. I do not have one but am planning to have one. This is the 2nd instance when a site which distributes linux distros at nominal prices has shut down basically due to time constraints. Anyways great job done. Thanks to Linux bazar for spreading or trying to spread linux in India by making Cd's available. Thanks and Regards Ninad Bapat

VPN thru iptables firewall

Hi all, We have windows machine network at my both office locations. When I try to connect thru iptables firewall (Gateway settings on Win XP machine) to my remote network it gives error " Network path not found", but when i connect it thru router ip address (Gateway settings on Win XP machine) it works-I am able to access all machines and shared resources on remote network. You will clearly see AMD64, EM64T, IA64 disabled :). I have to stress that this is a very disappointing drawback of all budget CPUs from AMD, because the 64-bit version of the Windows XP operating system is about to be released this month already." --------> Your CPU is based on the the D revision which means it doesnt even have the SSE3 extensions and is a 32bit chip which is _based_ on 64bit core ;). Too bad. Hi all, i guess this question is a little out of context at this grp but i guess technology knows no boundaries. My question is : is there some way i can execute an update or delete inside a select statement thru any caluse from where or anything is there anyway i can execute an update statement and use these results in my select query. Thanks

VMS to Linux

Hi, We are trying to Migrate Open VMS 7.1 to Linux. Following are installed on VMS Server -- Operating System --Open VMS AXP Programming Lang -- ANSI C DECMessageQ for Internal and external communication Oracle 7.3.2 RDBMS relatioal database DECNet Communication Software OSI layer based comunication software for SINEC- H1 BUS Oracle SQL*Net RDBMS network interface software. We Installed Linux and installed Oracle 10g on it. we had taken export from 7.3.2 database and impoted to New database. We can able to communicate with Client forms v4.5 but we are not able to do the DECMEssageQ. Applications are written in PROC to get data from PLC through telegrams to DECMessageQ mailbox and from there to Oracle Database. Any body has faced this kind of situation? ssh help

hi all, im using a linux box thats behind a NAT. If i know the port as well as the IP address it has currently been assigned is there some way i can ssh into this machine from the other side that is from an external comp if yes then please tell me how. Puneet
